Position Summary:
The Production Management Trainee (PMT) program is aimed at providing talented graduates a leadership career path in a manufacturing facility. You will gain hands on training in our plants with experienced production leaders all while developing a strong foundation for the McCain Foods’ business. After 2 years as a PMT you will be prepared to take on critical roles such as Production Supervisor & Shift Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Observe experienced staff and gain knowledge about process, procedures, methods, and standards that are required for performing a supervisory role within each of the program focus area
Actively participate and complete the structured development plan consisting of training courses and applied learning experiences
Complete assignments in each of the program focus areas within the manufacturing process assuming a front-line supervisory role (i.e. receiving, processing, packaging, quality, etc.)
Organize and lead work teams within assigned focus area including scheduling, safety, daily operations, and performance management
Oversee crews of people within the program focus area
Operational analysis and reporting throughout the term of the program
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin, or other related Bachelor's Degree
Thrives in the challenges that the manufacturing environment has to offer
Passion for learning and growth
Desire for leading and influencing others
Project Management
Demonstrated ability to provide solutions in day-to-day operational challenges
Strong organizational, written, and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Team player who is a champion of change
As a member of the leadership team at the facility, your participation in the continuous improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your current skill base.
Previous experience that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: team lead, production leader, coop, intern, recent grad, trainee, engineer in training
