JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Lead is responsible for the work performance of an assigned workgroup. Using effective oral and written tools, this role is responsible for the effective training and integration of team members to the work group, developing and holding a team accountable for work performed and correcting behavior as appropriate to ensure team goals are met.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train, coach, correct the actions and activities of production team in assigned workgroup. This includes assigning trainers, ensuring training meets expectations, monitoring of team progress, adjusting workflow, promoting safety, coaching behavior, escalating corrective action with supervisors as appropriate.
- Promote and enforce Medline safety, operational and procedural policies. Use training methods, corrective action and coaching to ensure adherence.
- Maintain and implement lean initiatives. Participate in Lean meetings for the assigned workgroup to collaborate and follow-through on initiatives as well as encouraging Lean process improvements at all times. Ensure efficiencies are in place and opportunities to improve are pursued. Function as the team champion for waste reduction in time and resources.
- Coordinate with related departments to include, but not limited to, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Product Development and others to ensure consistency in processes, management of change in workflow or process, as well as being abreast of upcoming changes in Production.
- Ensure supplies and equipment are ready for Production by ordering supplies as necessary to maintain operation without excess as well as equipment serviced to be in working condition to meet Production needs.
- Perform assigned work in various areas of the production environment for skill development as appropriate. Cross train with other production teams to develop team laterally and ensure processes are consistent throughout the operation.
- Generate reports for management that may include but are not limited to: productivity reports, labor forecasts/schedules, customer service issues, workplace safety analyses and investigations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment
ADDITIONAL:
- Read and write in English
- Basic use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary education
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience training, leading or managing employees
