Our Gardener, Denver, Nash Division of Ingersoll Rand in Charleroi, PA is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team! The Procurement Specialist has the responsibility to monitor flows of buy items, guarantee availability of parts to avoid material shortages and production downtime and to achieve customer on time delivery metrics for Nash NA business. The Procurement Specialist also has the responsibility to manage inventory levels to meet customer service metrics and business inventory targets.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Daily demand monitoring (manufacturing, distribution and service) and procurement of items
    • Receive and analyze requisitions to determine quantity, specifications and delivery requirements.
    • Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
    • Expedite deliveries to meet and exceed scheduled critical requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously evaluate supplier performance and escalate to corporate procurement team as needed for issue resolution.
    • Develop improvement action plans for problematic suppliers.
  • Maintain item master lead time information based on process improvements, current constraints and current total demand. Prioritize requirements accordingly with suppliers.
  • Lead cross functional coordination (production, quality, engineering and project management) to address material supply shortages and material quality issues.
  • On-board new suppliers as needed to achieve business metrics related to quality, on time delivery and productivity.
  • Manage RFQ and negotiation process for new parts and parts outside scope of global corporate contracts.
  • Resolve GRIR holds/discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory levels to achieve production and business targets
    • Manage safety stock levels.
    • Identify options to reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory levels.
  • Manage new vendor set-up and updates of purchasing information records.

  • Detail oriented and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess ability to work well in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Experience and Skills Required:


  • BA/BS degree or 2-5 years of experience in procurement or materials management in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience working with and understanding the basics of material prints for engineered and fabricated parts.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
