POSITION SUMMARY: The Procurement Manager will ensure that the employees of the Procurement team are completing the procurement process tasks they are assigned and are performing the duties required of their job successfully, on budget, and on schedule.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluation & selection of suppliers
  • Negotiation of purchases
  • Appraisal, performance of the staff
  • Approval of the Purchase Orders as per the limit set
  • Address areas of improvement and Initiate corrective and preventive action
  • Co-ordinate with (Sarbanes-Oxley) SOX / QMS (Quality Management Systems) auditors
  • Review Raw Material and Project requirements
  • Review and Identification of the Training needs of the Staff
  • Identifying and developing a reliable supplier base for cost effective and timely supplies
  • Review purchase (Management Information Systems) MIS Reports
  • Maintain smooth flow of materials for production with optimum inventory
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies
  • Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management procedures
  • Represent companies in negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Price estimates to Sales Department / other department to enable budgeting of project proposals
  • Identify need for resources and seek management approval
  • Co-ordination of Contract Manufacturing activities
  • Co-ordination of Centralized procurement of major raw materials and capex
  • Performs other duties/ projects as assigned or as required by the position.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/REPORTING:

  • This position will report to the Plant Manager with cross function responsibility with various departments for supply planning, strategic sourcing, logistics, estimating and finance to effectively carry out all product forecasts and purchasing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Certified Purchase Manager (C.P.A)
  • PMP Certification


EXPERIENCE:

  • 15+ years experience, preferably in a similar position in manufacturing company
  • ERP experience
  • MS Office

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
: This position may have additional buyers / purchasing personnel


TRAVEL: Intermittent, up to 25%


EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
: Must be able to operate computer, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment as the job requires.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual agility sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.


MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a typical office setting. This position may require working overtime on an as needed basis.
