About this Role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work on technology and process development activities associated within our Process Development Group at the Boston Scientific Arden Hills facility. This is a position in a growing segment of our business that is responsible for delivering best-in-class technologies and processes to support both internal and external divisions with products ranging from pulse generators, ablation and diagnostic catheters, and mapping and navigation systems to diagnostic devices and equipment.

In Electrophysiology, we offer solutions with 3D Mapping and Navigation systems, Radiofrequency Ablation catheters, Diagnostic Catheters, EP recording systems, and Intracardiac Access Sheaths. Boston Scientific develops, manufactures, and markets a broad array of products and services that enable less invasive care for some of the most threatening cardiac conditions. We’ve been expanding indications and conducting pivotal research for nearly 20 years, resulting in increased access to the lifesaving and life-enhancing benefits of many different therapies.
This role is responsible for providing electrical engineering support and expertise in the definition, design, development, and test of products; developing capable technologies and processes to ensure efficient and effective transfer of product into production.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately-complex processes
- Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, fixturing, and/or automation
- Executes the functional deliverables associated with the New Product Development, Project Management, and Quality Systems
- Uses technical and collaboration skills alongside a passion for innovation and continuous improvement to drive growth through efficient and effective commercialization of new products and targeted improvements
- Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews
- Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., Requirements, BOMs, Validation Plans and Reports, FMEAs, etc.)
- Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes
- Develops qualified production lines, while working with the Manufacturing team
- Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) input to the engineering print package
- Works cross-functionally to develop capable processes and complex technologies on new products and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production
- When required, provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation
- Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies
- Open to occasional travel up to 10% of the time
Required Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related field with strong electrical background
- Methodical approach to problem solving
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical device industry background
- Equipment and fixture design, along with test systems development experience
- Process Development; equipment validations and process characterization experience
- Ability to translate theoretical and abstract ideas into meaningful innovation
- LabVIEW and/or C/C++ programming experience
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Data driven individual; statistical analysis experience
- Design experience; new product development
- Experience with automation and programmable logic controllers
