Montessori Preschool Teacher

We are looking for an experienced Preschool teacher with Montessori and/or International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) experience, teaching two to five-year-old children. The room is run as a Montessori classroom, with IB PYP philosophy and practices being planned and taught simultaneously.

HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT PINE STREET SCHOOL STUDENTS

• Establish and maintain classroom culture
• Implement and build curriculum for both Montessori and IB PYP
• Oversee planning, preparation, teaching, and learning
• Plan and attend to the environment to meet the requirements of both Montessori and IB PYP
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherency and professional ethos of the Preschool
• Take ownership of logistical and operational matters and problem solving with colleagues
• Attend whole school meetings and work on whole school projects
• Conduct ongoing assessment, documentation and reporting of all students
• Communicating with parents, both formally and informally

• Legally authorized to work now and in the future in the United States
• Montessori teaching experience required
• International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) experience preferred
• Valid teaching certification (or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Fluency in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in English.)
• Proficient user of Mac computers, iPad, and iPhone and fluency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Mac applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Strong organizational and management skills
