BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:

The M TX TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION ENGINEERING Department of the H ENGINEERING Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)

JOB FUNCTION:

Prepares drawings and maps as assigned and assists designers and planners on service and system installations.

FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Prepares drawings and maps; transposes data from sketches to permanent layout drawings.
• Utilizes established underground and overhead Company Standards to make drawings and maps and prepares detailed drawings for field installations of underground and overhead lines, vaults, switching equipment and other construction, as required.
• Assist designers and planners;
  • Makes field inspections of installations.
  • Assists with field work.
• Relieves/substitutes for higher classifications.

Other Responsibilities

• Performs similar and incidental duties as required.

FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must Pass the Edison Electric Institute Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH). Note: Employees who have taken and passed the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) do not need to take the TECH.
• Must pass the SRA Oral & Written Directions Test.
• Ability to identify and distinguish different colors and color hues required.
• Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license. Must meet the standards for required driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Required Driving Positions policy.
• Must be able to pass a performance test covering lettering, use of triangles, scale, and circles, and tangents
• Must have successfully completed at least 1 community college level course in Introduction to Drafting or the equivalent.
