Physical Therapist -Pediatrics Job at CommUnityCare
In collaboration with patients, families (as defined by the patient) and staff across all disciplines and departments is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact for new and established CommUnityCare patients. Functions include appointment scheduling, providing information about the status of patient prescriptions, serving as a single point-of-contact for community providers serving CommUnityCare patients, and relaying messages to clinic staff as needed.
WHO WE ARE
Central Texas Community Health Centers (dba CommUnityCare Health Centers) provides services at 27 locations primarily in Travis County. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a part of the nation’s safety net system, including care for those without health insurance. In 2020, our health centers provided approximately 432,000 medical and dental patient appointments. This number represents more than 123,000 individual patients.
In collaboration with our partners at Central Health, CommUnityCare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides outpatient primary health care, dental care, pediatric, specialty care, lab, radiology including mammography, a full-service pharmacy, and behavioral health services. With the addition of Carousel Pediatrics in 2018, we now offer pediatric dental care and mental health, speech, physical and occupational therapy for children.
With more than 1,200 team members, CommUnityCare is committed to focusing on the whole patient with a team-based approach. Our goal is to provide easy-to-obtain, comprehensive and coordinated whole-person care.
POSITION SUMMARY:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), unless otherwise randfathered.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Active and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist in the State of Texas
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR)
Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Will be required to maintain a current CPR certification during employment. Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association.
