This Per Diem-Clinical Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Under the supervision of the registered nurse the Clinical Assistant will help provide basic bedside nursing care for complex neonatal and pediatric patients.
  • In collaboration with the registered nurse, you may be responsible for obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, and oxygen saturation measurements, while identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
  • Transporting patients, stocking of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • The Clinical Assistant role provides the opportunity to practice in a patient and family centered environment.
To qualify, you must have:
  • 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
  • A HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work within a team.
  • Availability to work 1 shift per week
  • Off shift, weekend, holiday requirements

Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
