Mount Sinai Services is seeking a full-time Senior Psychologist for the Center for Child Development (CCD) at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens. This is an opportunity for an experienced, early childhood psychologist to play a major role in a cutting-edge initiative to provide integrated pediatric primary, maternal health, and behavioral health care. Responsibilities may include:

· Functioning as a Healthy Steps Specialist, integrated into the pediatric team and serving an early childhood population

· Participating in developmental, social-emotional, and behavioral screenings at designated points for children from birth to three-years-old, and mental health, ACES, and other screenings for caregivers

· Providing consultation services, support, and positive parenting guidance to families with a young child

· Providing short-term, integrated behavioral health services in pediatric primary care

· Conducting parent-child interaction therapy, parent-child psychotherapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for selected patients

· Co-leading psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic groups (e.g., parent-child groups, fathers’ groups, and multidisciplinary healthy lifestyles [obesity] groups)

· Participating in multidisciplinary group care “centering” programs

· Helping families smoothly transition among women’s health clinic, NICU, pediatric primary care, and behavioral health services

· Conducting psycho-educational evaluations and other psychological testing

· Supervising and mentoring staff members, psychologists, and psychology post-docs, externs, and other trainees

· Helping to oversee the operation of the CCD and compliance with the standards of federal, state, local, and other regulatory agencies

· Participating in quality assurance, incident review, quality improvement, and utilization review functions, as well as special projects for the Pediatrics Department

· Reviewing literature and attending conferences and training programs to stay informed of developments in early childhood mental health

Requirements for this position include:

1. A doctoral degree from an APA-accredited clinical, health, or school psychology program; completion of an APA-accredited internship; and current licensure and registration as a New York State Psychologist.

2. At least 2 years’ post-doctoral experience as a child psychologist, with at least one of them in an early childhood setting that provides culturally competent, empirically-based behavioral health services.

3. Sophisticated clinical and therapeutic skills, with a deep understanding of the role of attachment, nurturing parenting, trauma, toxic stress, and social determinants for child development.

4. Strong administrative and organizational skills.

5. Deep commitment to prevention-based and early intervention programming.
