Job Summary: Working with and reporting to the Billing Supervisor, the payment poster is challenged to create the most efficient and effective posting processes, daily payment reconciliation. Responsible for online payments in all Systems, Daily Lock box review, Remittance review, posting payments and denials. Responsible for payment postings (ERA/Manual), and cash controls and balancing.

Duties and Responsibilities: Payment Poster- tasks include but are not limited to:

• Review Collections for Missing Billing Codes
• Process online payments
• Review Lock Box totals and record
• Daily scans of remits
  • Match to batches
  • Run Credit cards
  • Record Auth#
  • Post in system
• Post Lock Box Zero Pays and Denials
  • Post in system
  • Record document location
  • Attach files to batch

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of posting payment and end of day reconciliation

• Experience with Lock Boxes (manual posting)
• ERA posting
• Posting payments and denials
• Daily Reconciliation
• Credit card, check, cash, ERA payments
• Experience with multi-site, individually credentialed facilities (Urgent Care, ASC, etc.) preferred
• Must display proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines at the same time
• Must possess strong organizational skills, a strong work ethic, a professional attitude, and superior customer services skills

• Must be able to work independently
• Working with billing staff appropriately and professionally
• Escalating any issues to management
• Effectively communicate issues to management, including payer, system, or escalated account issues as well as developing solutions.
• Proactively identify issues or trends and provide suggestions for resolution
• Identify lockbox issues and actively work supervisor to escalate, including effective written and oral communication

Education & Experience:

• Associate’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or minimum of three (3) years of revenue cycle experience
• 2+ years of experience posting payments and denials
• 1+ years of experience in high-volume medical billing department
• At least 18 years’ old
• Are legally eligible to work in the United States

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment: This job operates in an office setting and may involve long periods sitting, The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally life and/or move up to 15 pounds. Have vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full time non-exempt hourly position with a typical work schedule of weekdays 8am-5pm. This is a hybrid role in which the employee would be required to be in the office a minimum of 2-3 days a week or more as needed.
