What We Are Looking For
We’re now hiring a Pawspitality Manager to support our New Kennel/Training facility, located in Greenfield, MN. You will be responsible for assisting in the establishment of a new pet training, grooming and boarding facility and will oversee daily operations once it is open for business. Essential Duties:
- Sets company direction and establishes annual performance goals.
- Monitors overall company performance to goals set.
- Coordinates priorities and monitors progress.
- Takes steps as needed to ensure operation managers meet commitments.
- Ensures good communication flow throughout business (management, supervisors, coordinators, staff & clients).
- Resolve resource conflicts as needed.
- Ensure resources, tools, structures & systems are in place for business operations to
- function without management presence.
- Coordinate management/supervisor planning & reporting process.
- Oversee company special projects.
- Develop new service ideas & implement to maintain leadership position in industry.
- Manage capital projects.
Ongoing Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively supports company mission statement and customer service standards.
- Create and maintain operating procedures for assigned services areas.
- Manage facility and personnel ensuring client and animal care services are provided in compliance with company procedures.
- Recommend increases as circumstances warrant to established rates & fees
- Recommend changes as needed to established client policies and monitor for effectiveness.
- Monitor staff performance related to execution of service to expectations. Oversee performance of new staff & annual performance reviews. Ensure corrective action is performed as necessary, is done as per Supervisor Handbook and properly documented.
- Oversee interviewing and hiring in accordance with employment laws/company procedures and proper documentation of new employee files.
- Create and maintain staff training program in service areas. Ensure all staff complete orientation and other general staff training programs timely.
- Monitor occupancy and service growth rates in assigned service areas.
- Identify slow periods and/or downturns and coordinate with marketing to feature service and/or modify policies & procedures to turn around performance.
- Create new programs related to service area as needed or appropriate & coordinate marketing plans w/ownership group.
- Handle client service issue escalations in a manner that maintains company’s reputation.
- Set area goals to support overall business goals and initiate changes to rectify shortfalls.
- Monitor payroll efficiency/cost versus revenues earned.
- Be available as needed for weekend or holiday pet or facility issues that escalate to management team.
- Oversee proper use of equipment in assigned areas and maintenance as required.
- Work with General Manager for capital expenditure additions or replacements of equipment.
- Maintain good working relationship with supply and maintenance vendors requesting service as required.
- Management projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification
- High school graduate with some college preferred
- Excellent oral & good written communication skills
- Previous work experience demonstrating dependability
- 3-5 years of experience supervising staff preferred
- 3-5 years of work experience in animal care industry preferred
- Self-motivated, independent worker with attention to detail
- Proven leadership and training skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good decision and problem-solving skills
- Good organization and planning skills
Demonstrated flexibility and proven coping skills
