Description

An opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of two amazing children! Westchester parents are seeking a PT nanny to join their dynamic and amicably divorced family to provide care for their energetic 5-year-old boy and sweet 15-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy, an intellectual disability and severely impaired hearing.

As their ideal nanny, you will have experience working with both school-aged children and special needs, and be able to provide the highest level of care and attention to their children. You will be a self-driven and reliable individual, with a patient and empathetic personality that can meet the needs of both children.

You will be responsible for assisting with feeding and bathroom needs and providing mobility assistance as needed for their daughter. You will be driving both kids to their other parent's house occasionally, and also to their various activities. Although it is your responsibility and inevitably will care for both children, parents minimize the nanny having both at the same time. The family employs a full-time nanny on duty until 4 pm with whom you will collaborate.

In addition, you will have nearly 3 hours during the day to run errands, organize, and assist the parents as needed. You will need excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with both parents and a passion for helping children with special needs. You will also have the energy and enthusiasm to keep up with the active 5-year-old. Applicants have to be comfortable with a large yet shy Poodle.

ASL fluency would be a plus. A candidate that demonstrates ASL fluency will receive a higher pay.
