Position Summary:
C&K Trucking, the Drayage Specialists, is actively seeking an experienced Intermodal Owner/Operator Recruiter in the Midwest Region reporting to Chicago Ridge, IL or Indianapolis, IN. The Owner/Operator Recruiter (O/OR) is the first point of contact for all new Intermodal Owner/Operators (O/O) and is tasked with attracting, training and the retention of all Owner/Operators for their assigned terminals. Throughout the process they will collaborate closely with the Onboarding team to ensure the approved O/O are onboarded in a timely manner. The O/OR will be responsible for making sure the O/O are trained in all areas required within their specific locations. This position requires someone who possesses great organization and communication skills, with strong attention to detail, and a great respect for all O/O in order to guide the O/O through the process as professionally and smoothly as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties are (but not limited to) the following:
- Ability to create and maintain genuine professional working relationships with O/O
- Initiate, develop and manage best recruiting practices to attract qualified O/O for assigned terminals
- Screen applications using Tenstreet software
- Review O/O violation history to verify O/O eligibility requirements are met
- Knowledge and familiarity of documents such as MVRs and PSPs
- Collect all O/O documents such as insurance, medical cards, and licenses
- Communicate with O/O regarding their application status
- Schedule onboarding dates, orientations and training with the O/O once approved
- Understand endorsements like hazmat, tank, doubles, etc., and their significance
- Maintain communication with O/O weekly to ensure their needs are being met
- Track and present data specific to recruiting and retention statistics for each location
- Create weekly and quarterly application reports to present to VP and Onboarding personnel
- High volume of travel required as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in Intermodal O/O recruiting or onboarding
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have great organizational skills
- Understanding of trucking documents and transcripts
- Ability to multi-task and handle time sensitive deadlines
