SECURITY OFFICER

Position Description
The Security Officer is responsible for serving the residential units along with all applicable common elements at One Charles Condominium. The primary focus for the Security staff is to maintain a safe and secure environment through visibility and technological resources.

Essential Abilities

 Ability to maintain positive relations with local law enforcement agencies.
 Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as a part of a team.
 Ability to perform tasks and duties with minimal supervision.
 Ability to handle multiple tasks.
 Ability to respond to emergency situations involving fire, medical and police issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
 The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are the safety and security of residents and guests and the protection of the property.
 Perform a key role in all building emergency procedures.
 Maintain the highest standards of safety and security for the property.
 Dynamically advance the level of safety and security provided to the residential client base.
 Participate and contribute to training programs.
 Successfully complete the training process.
 Understand and operate all life-safety and security-based systems utilized within security operations.
 Additional duties as may be assigned.

Essential Functions
 Ensure the safety and security of residents and guests and protect the property.
 Immediately address and resolve all issues.
 Respond and assist with resident lock-outs.
 Respond to all accidents and emergencies.
 Conduct patrols of designated areas as scheduled, with goal of 100% effectiveness in detex tour strip performance.
 Ensure compliance of all contractor and vendor procedures for entering the building utilizing the badge system.
 Receive and arrange for distribution of newspapers to residents.
 Receive and coordinate deliveries and log all incoming packages.
 Provide escorts to food delivery personnel as directed.
 Enforce security property pass policies for removal of items from the building.
 Perform inspections to ensure life safety initiatives are in compliance.
 Report any suspicious activities to the Security Operations Center.
 Man the service elevator as required.
 Maintain detailed log and receiving reports.
 Maintain logs of department equipment, systems and other information.
 Maintain key control procedures.
 Procure supplies, materials and vendor service provisions following standard procedures.
 Assist with employee I.D. program.

Position Qualifications:
 Demonstrated experience in the security industry.
 Exemplary customer service skills.
 Professional demeanor.
 Provide shift coverage to maintain minimum acceptable staffing.
 Knowledgeable of A.D.A. standards.
 Knowledgeable of blood borne pathogens precautions.
 Good oral and written communication skills.
 Strong organizational and follow up skills.
 High School Diploma or equivalent.
Drug test required.'
