  • Professional experience in career services, corporate recruiting, or closely-related field.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain rapport with industry.
  • Excellent event planning and project management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Superior teamwork/collaboration skills.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, master’s degree in business, or master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in developing and sustaining corporate relationships.
  • University-related experience.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events, workshops and meetings.
  • Well-networked in the Austin, Round Rock and San Antonio markets.

Job Description
Under the direction of the associate dean for graduate programs, responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships with businesses and corporate partners to further the educational goals of McCoy College graduate programs. Industry relations support recruiting initiatives at the graduate level, enhance job opportunities for McCoy graduates and guide curriculum design for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and specialty programs.

Job Duties
  • Identify collaborative opportunities with mid-size and large corporations in the Round Rock-Austin-San Marcos-San Antonio corridor, expanding our graduate footprint in central Texas.
  • Develop and maintain industry relationships to enhance job opportunities for McCoy graduate students, support recruiting initiatives, and design market-driven curricula.
  • Leverage businesses and corporate partnerships to secure domestic and international field projects for the MBA capstone course and specialized graduate programs.
  • Support collection and reporting of placement data. Develop appropriate instrument(s) for professional self-assessment of McCoy College graduate students.
  • Maintain graduate alumni database and provide engagement opportunities for networking, mentoring and continued education.
  • Coordinate graduate student internships with the McCoy Graduate Career Specialist.
  • Create, implement, and support professional development events and workshops, especially those focused on continued education.
  • Develop McCoy graduate career events and collaborate with employers to engage them in career fairs, employer site visits, networking receptions and alumni events.
  • Research, identify, and secure externship opportunities for McCoy College faculty.
  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of McCoy Graduate events, like orientation Bootcamp for incoming graduate business students and Hooding for graduating students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information to Applicants
In addition to regular working hours of Monday-Friday from 8-5, this position requires participation at some events and event-related activities on evenings and weekends.
