Outreach Coordinator

Position: Outreach Coordinator Location: Sigourney, Iowa Schedule: Part Time

Summary
Work with K-12 teachers and students to deliver Agriculture in the Classroom in Keokuk County. Help ensure there is current and relevant information about agriculture, available and utilized by target audiences.
Implement marketing plan, manage social media accounts, and other general office duties as needed to conduct monthly board meetings.

Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions
1. Create and promote awareness of how agriculture can be integrated into curricula by meeting with educators and school personnel.
2. Conduct classroom presentations to create and promote awareness of agriculture and agriculture careers with students and staff.
3. Organize agricultural education events and programs.
4. Promote Keokuk County Farm Bureau, its mission and goals via social media, e-newsletters, and blogs.
5. Utilize technology and social media to reach a variety of audiences to promote and support agricultural programs and initiatives.
6. Organize educational supplies and keep inventory.
7. Prepare documents and materials for monthly Board of Directors Meetings
8. Research, prepare and submit articles to the Spokesman and local media weekly.
9. Assist volunteers with programs and events.
10. Prepare reports for the County Farm Bureau Board of directors regarding programming success and goals accomplished.
11. Collect & Process new and/or renewing members as needed
12. Develop new marketing and communications programs to promote agriculture and Rural Iowa

Non-Essential Functions
Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned by Regional Manager.

Qualifications/Know-How The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

1. Strong oral and written communications skills
2. Presentation, organizational, and analytical skills are highly desirable.
3. Enthusiasm, flexibility, professionalism, and a passion for agriculture are a must.
4. Proficiency in a variety of presentation platforms including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing quality and consistent work independently.
6. Flexibility to handle various activities with staff and volunteers
7. Reliable transportation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
