This incumbent in this position performs a wide spectrum of functions for the Florida Department of Health in Miami Dade County, Department of Purchase/Warehouse; responsible for all warehouse operations activities including shipping and receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, and overseeing storage of surplus inventory and property for the Department of Health

Responsible for receiving, verifying and logging in of documents and merchandise, makes distribution, stocks supply on shelves, pulls and checks supplies transiting the warehouse.

Responsible for the assembling, packing and arranging of shipments involving stored merchandise and materials in warehouse for distribution to health department programs by courier and maintaining files for supply request and supply issues.

Coordinate shipments involving purchase orders with vendors and Purchasing Agent. Notifies all concerned on any discrepancies in shipment. Informs the supervisor on all non-routine actions and maintain a filing system by vendor and by activity of open and closed files for the documentation of audit trail purposes.

Operates a government motor vehicle to transport equipment, office and medical supplies within Miami-Dade County Health Department, outlying satellite, clinics and warehouses and also for the purpose of relocation of personnel, storing and/or disposing of unusable equipment and furniture.

· Must be available to work weekends as needed.

· Required a process a valid and clean Driver’s License for the past 3 years.

· Warehouse Experience: 2 years (Preferred)

· Forklift: 2 years (Preferred)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of record-keeping procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Inventory systems.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to locate destinations.
  • Skill in assembling, packing, unpacking unpacking, rotating and storing supplies.
  • Ability to check shipments against invoices and/or purchase orders for discrepancies.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain a perpetual inventory system.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Able to work flexible scheduled hours.

WHAT IS OPS EMPLOYMENT?

Other Personal Services (OPS) employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignment and terminations at the recommendation of the employer.
