General Summary
The Training Specialist acts as the C-ONE (document control system) owner and trainer and is responsible for managing, designing , implementing, coordinating and conducting Operations training programs across Chr. Hansen’s North American facilities. This position can be based from our West Allis, New Berlin or Madision, WI facility.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management team (North American sites) to identify training needs at site/department level.
  • Develop and implement training program structure, aligned to the global programs (TWI, GO4E academy, etc.)
  • Work with sites management to identify trainers within each department.
  • Train leaders and trainers on training program structure.
  • Host train the trainer sessions for designated internal trainers.
  • Provide direction to department trainers and assist in preparation and delivery of training programs, as well as standards for writing of work instructions. Manage consistency across sites.
  • Train leaders and trainers on process confirmation and verification.
  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed (COPQ, efficiency loss). Coordinate internal and external training as needed.
  • Maintain training records in C-ONE and develop training metrics (participation index, completion to plan, etc.).
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPI's.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise regarding instructional design.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to travel to North American sites
  • 2-3 years proven work experience in a training role, managing multiple locations
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate and manufacturing setting
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning platforms
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Familiarity with TWI job training methods and techniques
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, HR or related field, or equivalent experience

Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate. Some sedentary work but may require standing and walking for up to 40% of work time. Occasionally comes in contact with extremely cold conditions (-55°C). May need PPE, including dust mask, hearing protection, hair/beard net, safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes when in production areas.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
