Job Summary and Qualifications

The Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the facility’s central energy plant, and the main plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system. Utilizing a working knowledge of boilers, chillers, and other plant equipment, the plant Operator ensures the plant consistently runs efficiently, safely, and smoothly.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will operate boilers in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper water chemistry, alternative fuel operations, and safety equipment functionality.
  • You will operate the chiller plant in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper operating pressures, temperature differentials, and water chemistry.
  • You will operate medical gas source equipment in a safe and efficient manner ensuring proper operating parameters, equal equipment run times, and safety equipment functionality.
  • You will operate air distribution equipment (AHUs) in a safe efficient manner, ensuring proper air pressurization, space temperatures, and equipment cleanliness.
  • You will interact with facility management leadership for reporting.
  • You will monitor the plant equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working order, and repair or replace equipment as it becomes necessary.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the engineering-related field or Associates’ Degree in engineering-related field or trade/technical certification
  • 3 + years of experience in Plant Operations
  • High school diploma or GED, 5+ years experience in Plant Operations - Required
  • Experience in Plant Operations in an acute care setting - Required

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
