Operational Risk Associate

The qualified candidate should have knowledge of the financial services industry and will work closely with various levels of our organization to support departments under Ops Risk Management. Primary role will be focused on monitoring and reporting on unsecured accounts for various lines of businesses. The candidate will implement enhancements within the existing process, advise management on all ongoing projects, work with corresponding vendors and stakeholders supporting a number of regulatory and financial oversight teams. Candidate will also collaborate with legal dept to resolve outstanding issues related to customer matters. Additionally, qualified candidate will also support Risk management in incident tracking and root case analysis as well as the identification, review and testing of user developed business applications. The associate will also partner with other departments to assess key risks and controls for process improvement and effective risk mitigation and provide recommendations based on analysis of KPI?s & KRI?s. Debt & Recovery

DEBT & RECOVERY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly reports to satisfy numerous firm risk mitigating reporting requirements
- Oversight of deficit reporting including unresolved debit balances
- Work with business partners to analyze and implement solutions for process improvement and efficiency
- Perform data analysis for identification of thematic risk issues and escalate, suggest remediation as appropriate.
- Liaise with technology, reporting and project management teams to deliver business requirements, system configuration, application testing and deployment efforts
- Partner with Fraud prevention, Margin Risk and Tech depts to ensure best practice methodologies are followed
- Provide periodic presentation to Operations Management and Finance teams
- Ability to cross function & collaborate with various teams
- Ad hoc duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree
- Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assist in process improvement exercises
- Perform functional obligations with a team driven mentality
- Critical thinking to challenge processes, problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues in real-time and creativity to suggest alternative approaches
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal skills / ability to develop relationships
- Work under time constraints and multi task with meticulous attention to details

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Working knowledge of reconciliation processing (Banking and Brokerage) including ability to research, schedule, analyze and present findings
- Reporting tools (e.g. SAP Business Objects, SpotFire, Tableau, MS ACCESS)
- Experience with SQL and/or understanding of databases, data structures, multi-tier application design

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00 - $23.64 per hour

• 8 hour shift
