Occupational Therapist Job at SOCIAL VOCATIONAL SERVICES
SVS Norwalk is looking for a compassionate, hands-on Occupational Therapist
Dynamic, fun, and creative day program serving adults with multiple developmental and physical disabilities is looking for a hands-on Occupational Therapist to provide 6 hours per week of consulting services.
Essential tasks include:
- Individual assessments with objectives implementable in recreation activities
- Assessment and recommendations of adaptive equipment, as needed for program participants
- Staff training in adapting activities to people with multiple levels of ability
- Directing and supervising the work of an Occupational Therapist Assistant
- Support in identifying supplies needed to meet program objectives
- Providing staff training and in-services on relevant topics and current industry best practices
Requirements:
- Registered with the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
- Must maintain a current California occupational therapist license.
- Minimum of 2 years-experience with developmentally disabled adults
- Basic word processing and/ computer skills
- Two letters of recommendation
