Job Summary:
Assists conducting NYCAMH/Northeast Center Research with varying degrees of supervision, depending on task. Assists Study Coordinator and Investigators with implementation of data collection, data entry and analysis, and presentation of research findings. While this position does not function as an independent researcher, all Research Assistant activities serve the research goal. The successful Research Assistant will be highly flexible, able to undertake a number of tasks on a number of different projects simultaneously and will take the initiative to become familiar with all aspects of agricultural health and safety research.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Qualifications:· Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university.· In exceptional cases, a lesser degree and/or work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Experience:· Study design, Computer data bases, Agricultural experience· Spanish language extremely useful Licensure/Certificates:None Skills:· Work independently and part of a team.· Sound organizational skills, handle multiple projects.· Communicates will with NYCAMH staff, farmers, health center staff and patients, government agencies, other research professionals, the agricultural community, and the general public. Physical Requirements:· Requires extensive periods of concentration in semi-private cubicle and work rooms, where co-workers may be talking.· Several hours at computer keyboard, sitting for long periods, and the ability to travel/drive by car for long hours.· Travel to agricultural settings and interact with the agricultural community in its workplace.
