Southwestern Child Development is accepting applications for the position of Nurse Home Visitor for our Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Project. These positions will serve Graham, Cherokee, Counties in North Carolina. The NFP Project is an evidenced-based home visitation program for first time parents to help improve pregnancy outcomes, child health and development and self-sufficiency. A desire to do home visitation, one-on-one intervention and working toward measurable goals are a must. A Nurse Home Visitor is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to women and their families eligible for the NFP project including home visiting, providing education, support and referral resources in assisting women and their families in attaining their targeted goals, formulating nursing diagnosis based on nursing assessment and client goals, and working on teams. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, current RN license in good standing and current CPR are required. Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, or mental/behavioral nursing are preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as basic computer skills. All applicants must have a valid NC Driver’s license and an insured automobile available for work. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends and must be able to travel in the area and to out of state education sessions. Bi-lingual qualified candidates are needed, as well. Competitive wages and the agency’s full benefits package are available. This is a grant –funded position.
