Duties

Under direct supervision, the Nuclear Security Officer – while armed – is responsible for:

• Acting as a member of the armed response team
• Operating and monitoring detection equipment
• Testing security systems and equipment
• Searching and rescuing personnel during plant emergencies
• Patrolling assigned areas
• Personnel access control
• Other duties related to maintaining access control of vehicles at the primary access facility

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous military, security or law enforcement experience is desired.
• Must be able to lift and continuously carry up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to pass all required training and pre-employment screening requirements, including the follow: a background investigation, company physical, stamina and agility tests and drug and alcohol screening.
• Must meet all Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements.
• Will be required to work rotating shifts, overtime and holidays.
• Required to respond in a timely manner to the Emergency Response Organization.
