Mobile CDL Driver - Tyler / Flex Job at Carter Bloodcare
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Mobile Driver works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Mobile Collections, Operations/Equipment Coordinator, and the Mobile Supervisor. This position is responsible for driving the mobile coach to and from blood drives. Regular full-time attendance is required and work schedule varies according to need.
Major responsibilities include:
- Driving coach to and from blood drives
- Responsible for departure checklist, return checklist, stocking, and cleaning the coach upon return to center.
- Responsible for proper use and care of blood center vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
- Responsible for reporting all mechanical problems to the manager of mobile collections and completing a vehicle maintenance request.
- Attend monthly staff meetings; participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as required.
This position is a flex position (as needed) that pays $25/hour.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent required
EXPERIENCE
- Driving experience a plus
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to travel.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
PHYSICAL/MENTAL STRESS FACTORS
- Required to pass a DOT Medical Physical bi-annually
- Irregular schedule, extensive driving, lifting and carrying of supplies
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to walk, stoop, bend; use hands, reach with hands and arms; lift and carry equipment.
- Ability to sit, walk, climb steps and step stools, stand, bend, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work a varied schedule.
- Noise level exposure is moderate.
- Periodic exposure to traffic hazards; ability to drive to and from remote donor collection locations.
