Assist in the procurement and stocking the Food Pantry. Provide education and assistance to staff, clients, and community agencies. Ensure all NARA site without separate access to the Oregon Food Bank receive needed food items. Provide milieu assistance as needed for assembling food boxes. Provide Cultural Guidance and assistance as requested by staff, clients, and other community members.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintains all of the ordering of food for stocking the Food Pantry (back-up)
  • Speaks to various groups to educate them about the purpose and role of the Food Pantry in the Native Community.
  • Keep accurate food pantry records
  • Complete food pantry reports monthly and submit the requested reports and inspections of the Food Pantry in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned on an “as needed” basis.
  • Assist the Community Liaison within Native Community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards to drive company vehicles.
  • Ability to work in multiple computer programs agency wide and ability to interface with Food Pantry ordering database.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete work in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to be open minded to new work ideas and methods.
  • Ability to problem solve on various issues as they relate to direct job responsibilities.
  • Ability to deliver services to those in need with compassion, clear boundaries and good communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Adhering to 42 CFR and HIPPAA regulations.
  • Ability to be highly organized motivated and remain flexible under pressure. Attention to detail and ability to organize and set priorities a must.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality in all work-related activities.
  • Ability to accurately complete tasks assigned.
  • Pleasant and helpful attitude towards clients, staff and administrators.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees/clients of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to problem solve many situations.
