SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to lead and manage International Export Rates and Domestic Railroad Rates and contracts for Tyson Foods to achieve financial and service goals as established with Business Unit strategies and in alignment with Tyson core values and cultural tenets. Specific responsibilities include: Analyze develop export rates and pricing with inland and export data; Analyze develop optimal routing railroad rating and pricing identifying and communicating transportation trends and analysis; benchmarking rates for rail ocean and bulk truck; developing and supporting operational business plans; and achieving financial and business objectives. This position also is responsible for internal optimization criteria through GT Nexus to maximize transportation execution savings setting sales standards complete market analysis on Tyson market share in foreign countries. This role is responsible for conducting Tyson s annual RFP with Ocean carriers and managing these rates and amendments. The Supervisor Rates Commerce is a highly analytical role within our team that works a great amount with excel and access programs to scrub data for information to make decisions. This position is key to managing relationships and communicating with Ocean Rail Carriers Freight Forward sales and CFS that handle our freight. They are expected to report monthly quarterly or as often as needed on rate updates and shipment performance against contractual obligations with carriers. This position is responsible for entering rates for export container shipments with minimal supervision for accuracy into Fresh Meats and Poultry platforms. Manages Contracts placed into Contract Management System inputs and manages the Freight tables for Fresh Meats and SAP. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor s degree or equivalent. Experience: 7 plus years of experience Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills required in Microsoft Office. GT Nexus Railroad sites Vender web applications heavy data compilation preferred Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills required. Position communicates with multiple levels of management carriers and vendors. Special Skills: Highly analytical position will multiple levels of data compilation required for decision making and negotiations. Supervisory: Direct reports of 2 management and 4 Administrators.
