Non-Ferrous Warehouse:

The non-ferrous warehouse worker handles all non-ferrous material with little supervision. They are responsible for inputting data into company’s material receipt system and required to complete physical inventory. This position is an indoor environment but will have exposure to the outdoor elements year-round. Overtime and weekend work will be required at times. The person in this position must be constantly aware of surroundings and look out for other individuals in the area he is working in.

Essential Job Functions:

• Completes daily safety inspections
• Receives all non-ferrous material as it comes in
• Processes and separates all material as it is received
• Gleans material from the yard
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations
• Identifies and treats non ferrous material accordingly
• Assists customers when needed
• Performs general up keep and provides basic security for the facility
• Completes monthly inventory routine
• Communicates with the office and ferrous yard on customer movement
• Completes physical inventory
• Inputs data into company’s material receipt system

Ferrous Scrap yard:

The Ferrous Material Handler works with Ferrous Operators to safely sort, upgrade, and process material. The position performs manual labor and outdoor work daily and may be required to work with customers, vendors, and contractors. This position is in an outdoor environment and will be subject to all types of weather conditions. When operating equipment, the position operates in a controlled environment, however when equipment needs repairs or maintenance, exposure to weather elements exist. Overtime and weekend work will be required at times. Once trained, this position normally works with at least one other individual.

Essential Functions:

• Move and position raw materials and finished components manually or with the help of material moving equipment where needed.
• Identify and separate metals materials according to grade.
• Greet and assist customers in a professional, safe, and productive manner.
• Operate equipment in compliance with company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and daily inspections sheets.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment including lubricating moving parts, greasing/oiling as needed, and performing minor repairs.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment when needed and communicate with supervisor and/or maintenance team.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Can work independently and in a team environment
• Self-motivated and takes responsibility for own work; can manage interruptions
• Must perform all duties while meeting safety protocols
• Must have good organization skills
• The ability to identify items that are ferrous and non-ferrous
• Displays an understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift to 50lbs.
• Knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and resolve customer questions or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Constant awareness of surroundings and the ability to watch out for self and others.
• Ability to arrive at work on time for all regularly scheduled shifts.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations

Training:

Training on all equipment and safety rules will be given

SS Cutter:

This person will cut aluminum in our scrap yard. We are looking for someone who has torching or fabrication experience preferably and that is open to working in the elements

Education and Experience Required:

• Experience working in an outdoor environment, subject to the elements.
• Experience operating material moving equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
