Description
Deliver and pickup messages, documents, packages, mail, printed materials and other items to and from the Capitol Complex, United States Post Office, Technology Park, or other location by walking or driving.
This job is not eligible for telework opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Receives, picks up, and delivers messages, mail and related material on a regularly assigned route and special assignments. Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes
• Log completed job information in internal database
• Lift and move packages up to 100 pounds
• Drive vehicles (both standard and automatic), up to 24 feet in length, to transport materials to and from specified destinations
• Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as cleaning, monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel. Maintain vehicle mileage log and maintenance schedule. Deliver vehicle to the Department of General Services for scheduled service
• Perform work-related duties as assigned. These secondary assignments will be in a support capacity to the mail team.
• Requires onsite support of team members, staff, and Members, especially during Session. Session essential employees must be physically present at the worksite on Session Days.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid PA Driver's License
• Ability to memorize routes, office locations, and points of collection and delivery
• Ability to understand and follow detailed, oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform work punctually within an established schedule
• Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and automatic lifts

• Understands the important nature of achieving objectives assigned and meeting commitments made by the Legislative Publications Office
• Willingness to cross-train/assist in other areas of the Legislative Publications Office
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Some mild chemical and odor exposure is present
