Medical Director, Meningococcal Vaccines, MD Job at Pfizer
ROLE SUMMARY
As the Global Meningococcal Medical Affairs Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the global strategic medical activities supporting the in-line meningococcal vaccines. The position will also support the overall global medical affairs and evidence generation plan for the franchise.
The incumbent should be experienced with designing, evaluating, interpreting, summarizing, and presenting real-world evidence and will be skillful with data visualization and presentation tools to convert complex analysis into meaningful insights. In addition to the analytic component of the position, the incumbent will develop and deliver presentations, webinars, and other communication outlets, as needed.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads the medical affairs activities for
- Supports activities for the launch of the Pentavalent vaccine both in the US and ROW, which represents a significant opportunity for the meningococcal franchise and Pfizer vaccines overall.
- Supports the global strategy in the overall Medical Affairs Plan (including epidemiological and lifecycle plans) for Pentavalent vaccine.
- Collaborates with Pentavalent lead, epidemiological lead and scientific affairs lead, for the plans for effectiveness evaluations for meningococcal B and ACWY vaccines
- Participates in global vaccine strategy and assumes accountability for specific global initiatives for meningococcal pentavalent vaccines
- Supports global regulatory activities for the portfolio of meningococcal in-line vaccines, Trumenba, Nimenrix, and NeisVac-C.
- Supports interactions, in collaboration with Scientific Affairs lead, for Vaccine Technical Committees and MoHs with respect to meningococcal vaccines.
- Partners with commercial partners to deliver essential materials as part of Omnichannel plan.
- Lead delivery of medical omnichannel deliverables.
- Provides scientific evidence in support of inquiries and communications regarding the medical/epidemiological aspects of the meningococcal vaccines globally.
- Ensures Medical Affairs activities for meningococcal in-line vaccines are fully supported and establishes focused partnership with cross-functional global teams/colleagues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- MD + 3+ years of relevant experience
- Expertise or experience in the designated therapeutic area (vaccines) is highly desirable (research, public health or medical and scientific affairs)
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience developing content for medical teams, analyzing medical literature, or a track record of publications is strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal skills: ability to understand and respond to multiple external and internal customers’ demands, manage and handle conflict constructively required.

- Manage a significant volume of projects, while exhibiting the ability to prioritize, provide oversight, demonstrate excellent judgmental skills and work in a continuous improvement environment.
