Mechanical Engineer
Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Annex, Virginia Beach, VA.
You are imaginative and resourceful, using your 3D modeling skills in Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks to simulate new designs. Your hands-on experience in U.S. Naval ships and mechanical design makes you stand out in this role. While you are self-reliant, you also enjoy collaborating ideas as a part of a team. Your focused, dependable nature is something special you bring to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Design products or systems in support of facilities' infrastructure, research, or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate, troubleshoot, and approve installation activities as inspection services to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field and at least 3 years of full-time professional experience working as a Mechanical Engineer
- Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for design data processing and for turning the design into a product
- Must have an active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Inventor is a plus.
