GENERAL INFORMATION
JOB SCOPE
Coordinates and executes activities of the maintenance team engaged in repair, maintenance and improvement of the mill’s systems by performing the following duties personally or through assigned Electrical Technicians.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
- Lead by example and reinforce expectations and policies for Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Schedule repair and maintenance of equipment and systems to ensure continuous production operations.
- Coordinate activities of technicians maintaining equipment and systems.
- Review work orders with area PIC to determine work priorities.
- Review production, quality control, maintenance reports and statistics and logs kept by operators and shift maintenance to plan and improve maintenance activities.
- Determine root cause of failures and breakdowns and develop and implement corrective and preventative actions to avoid repeat and similar failures. Perform follow-up to determine effectiveness of actions.
- Participate in the development of job plans for upcoming maintenance work.
- Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Recommend PMs for improved reliability based upon equipment wear and failure patterns.
- Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for hands-on training and indoctrination of assigned maintenance technicians to improve work performance and acquaint them with company policies and procedures.
- Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Understand and apply best practices for maintenance activities.
- Required to follow safe working practices, safety policies and ensure those assigned work safely.
- Responsible for housekeeping of work/job location, shop and assigned areas that meets or exceeds Arauco standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to lift 50lbs, work in hot/cold environment, walking, standing, bending for 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to work extended hours and respond to after hour emergencies as required.
- Ability to work at heights, in hot, noisy & dirty environments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE__
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework or four-year degree preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in a maintenance role in an automated manufacturing environment or equivalent years of relevant college education.
- 3+ years supervisory maintenance experience desired.
- Good knowledge in the manufacturing process of composite panels preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills to motivate employees and attain high levels of performance.
- Good leadership skills, ability to work in a team and to energize team members.
- Excellent computer and software skills such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Required to complete all Craft Enhancement coursework up through level of Electrical Technician IV or Dual Technician III and Specialist coursework for the appropriate area within two years of accepting the position to maintain Coordinator pay rate.
