HCA North Florida Division is supporting the recruitment efforts for a board certified/board eligible maternal fetal medicine to join a busy perinatal practice in Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Qualified Candidates and Information

• New graduates and practicing physicians
• Outpatient consultative practice
• Significant amount of co-management for pregnancies with maternal and fetal complications
• Inpatient and outpatient
• Covers 1 hospitals
• Weekdays, regular business hours
• 3 midwives, 2 OBGYNs with ongoing recruitment for additional OBGYNs
• In-House Anesthesia
• No Call

About HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital: Women’s Service Line

• 12 bed private post-partum unit which also includes high risk ante -partum patients and GYN surgeries
• 10 bed NICU currently caring for any baby born 28 weeks or over or 1000gms
• 2 Neonatologists
• Bonding room for NICU parents, adoptions and surrogacies
• 4 bed labor Unit
• 2 Operating rooms
• 3 bed triage area
• Follow Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative for OB initiatives including:
  • No elective deliveries before 39 weeks unless medical indicated
  • No scheduled elective inductions until 40 weeks
  • Checklist and debrief prior to non-urgent C/sections
  • Labor and Delivery Award for achieving 2030 goal of lowering rates for C/section deliveries
  • PAIRED initiative in NICU (Participating in care and decision making, Individualized care, Respectful collaboration, Education ) incorporating skin to skin
  • Eat, Sleep and Console for drug exposed babies
  • Obstetric Hemorrhage management
  • Hypertensive Crisis Management

• Florida Department of Health CMV testing on failed hearing screens
• Award for Hep B Vaccine compliance on babies before 24 hours of age

• Healthgrades 5-Star Recipient for Women’s Care for Vaginal Delivery
• HCA Unit of Distinction 2021 for perinatal service
• Education classes to the community to include breast feeding, childbirth classes
• 24 hour hotline number for breastfeeding advice- followed up by the Lactation RN
• Promote exclusivity of breast feeding
