Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Market Research Manager for our Pole Business Unit working with our sales teams! Our ideal candidate is responsible for collecting and analyzing data on customers, competitors, and overall market conditions for the purpose of recommending and influencing potential sales and marketing strategies. Gain thorough understanding of what products customers want, who will buy them, and at what price. Provide master data ownership of CRM platform while ensuring proper use through training and continuous platform development.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop & execute market research strategies, tools, and methods
  • Coordinate, monitor, and measure effectiveness of all external marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate external, customer-facing events such as tradeshows and conferences
  • External brand management

What will I be doing?

  • Analyze specific market and competition situations, their business issues and interests, and generate a strategy that will achieve business objectives
  • Collect data on customers, competitors, and market place conditions – consolidating information into actionable items, reports, and presentations
  • Understand business objectives and design surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences and current customer feedback
  • Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it
  • Partner with Regional Sales Managers to drive specifications in to the market that align with our capabilities, capacities, and strategies
  • Provide data for analyzing and adjusting quotation rates and profitability targets
  • Super-user for CRM platform Salesforce
  • Contributor and organizer of monthly Business Review Meetings
  • Keep well informed of industry changes, participates where possible in organizations directly involved with our prime markets, and continually works to improve quoting and sales techniques and team knowledge
  • Manage tradeshow and conference budgets, including selection and planning of events
  • Key contributor to the Proven Process, entering new markets and providing new products
  • Website ownership, including updates and migrations
  • Manage partnership, budgets, and designs with brand vendor regarding company store and merchandise
  • Manage cadence and content of external customer messaging, training, and product updates

How do I know if I am qualified?

  • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, Statistics, Economics, or another related field. Other combinations of formal training and experience may be considered.
  • Preferred candidates will have three (3) or more years of experience with research & analytics responsibilities within a competitive market situation. Accounting, sales, quotations, planning, manufacturing, or similar backgrounds would prove beneficial.
  • Expert user in MS Office applications, particularly using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Publisher for the purpose of presentations, charts, graphs, and other visual communication means
  • Collaborative approach with others as part of a high-performance Business Unit
  • Preferred candidates will have experience operating ERP and CRM platforms (i.e. Epicor and Salesforce)
  • Proficient knowledge in interpreting technical specifications, mechanical drawings, and plans
  • Confident, driven, and dynamic, producing high-quality results with minimal amount of management or direction
  • Demonstrate a high-level of attention to detail and organization
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Proficient and appropriate communication skills, whether written and oral, both internally and externally, including; giving presentations, leading meetings, and co-creating business case scenarios
  • Manage research toolbox including budgets, vendor relationships, and pricing negotiations (i.e. Search Engines, Google Leads, Construct Connect, etc.)
