American Yacht Restoration has been repairing, restoring, and refitting the finest vessels of all sizes for 25+ years in Palm Beach County. We are recognized for high quality marine carpentry and our ability to service on time and on budget, delivering a superior finish to our clients. We are looking to add to our team experienced shipwrights, furniture builders and cabinet makers. You should be comfortable with custom wood fabrication with minimal supervision and complete joinery projects where no detailed plans may be available. Qualified candidates with general to advanced woodworking experience who take pride in their work, will have an opportunity to develop and grow with the industry leader in Palm Beach County.

Responsibilities:

• Template & calculate dimensions using tape measure, square and marking/layout devices

• Interpret blueprints or sketches if provided to cut, shape and smooth lumber to measurements

• Fabricate doors, tables, paneling, flooring, rails, trim, furniture, and cabinetry

• Installation of cabinetry, furniture, headlines, teak decks, flooring.

• Repair wood aboard yachts and residences.

• Willing to learn yacht terminology and applications that apply to the industry.

• Drama free with a good attitude! Leave your personal problems at home, just come to work.

• Team player knowing we can all learn from each other.

Skills:

• Proven experience as carpenter with dedication to completing daily/weekly tasks

• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.

• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.

• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, routers, shapers, planers, etc)

• Ability to understand basic math & read technical documents and drawings

• Willingness to always follow safety guidelines

• Good physical condition and endurance

Location:

• Our 13,000 square foot woodshop is in West Palm Beach, minutes to super yacht centers of Palm Beach Island, Palm Harbor, Rybovich, Crackerboy, Safe Harbor & private residences.
• Our 5000 square foot shop is in Palm Beach Gardens and services the north county marinas like Old Port Cove, Hemingways (The Ways), Seminole Marina, NPB, The Bluffs, Soverel Harbor and Jupiter Island.
