Sofidel America of Haines City is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer. We are searching for a candidate local to the area and looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will implement various methods and production procedures to reduce costs and improve productivity while supporting Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.

Job Responsibilities:

The work involves chemical and biochemical processes in which raw materials change, and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the manufacturing plant.

• Manage and execute change control processes within the existing guidelines of the quality system requirements and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures.
• Assist the Operations Manager with the formulation of budget proposals relating to production and maintenance costs.
• Design and development processes to optimize productivity and workflow and oversee the implementation of new processes and procedures.
• Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting and modifying operating equipment and facilities.
• Provide engineering expertise to ensure compliance specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance.
• Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain low life cycle costs on various classes of equipment.
• Conduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratory when required
• Support Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary, and hygienically sound workplace.
• Maintain full compliance with provisions and policies in matters of safety in the production environment, along with ISO 9001 Quality Systems, to ensure that production, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and workgroups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specified knowledge level of new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical is preferred.
• 3 years of equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to analyze manufacturing operations and perform capacity analysis to identify obstructions.
• Must be proficient in MS Office, ERP, and Manufacturing System software.
• Must demonstrate the ability to promote a safe working environment.
