We are looking for a new colleague to join our Assembly and Final Test Engineering Department in Gray Court, SC!
Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly or Test) is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities in the Assembly or Test lines at the ZF Transmissions plant in Gray Court, SC. The Engineer works integrally with other plant personnel in the analysis of process problems, troubleshooting assembly equipment, equipment upgrades, development and installation, and drive continuous improvement within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously improve and upgrade equipment.
- Design and make changes to enhance the machine functionality.
- Troubleshoot and solve errors and problems on production equipment.
- Works with design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods.
- Plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Determine specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, fixturing or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.
- Assess/develop potential suppliers for production equipment, tooling and fixturing.
- Follows the evolution of the equipment and performs acceptance evaluation according to specification.
- Responsible for implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs of production equipment to provide information for management decisions.
- Responsible for creating procedures, PFMEA’s and workflows to meet industry standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of work-related Engineering experience.
- Minimum 4 years of Hands-on experience in manufacturing environment.
- Preferred 5+ years of plant problem solving experience on manufacturing equipment.
- Prior experience in assembly/manufacturing environment, equipment development, plant layout, cost analysis, budgeting, blueprint reading, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft and CAD software.
- Good time management, project management and prioritizing skills.
