Position Summary:
The Managing Director is primarily responsible for providing senior leadership to the company and its employees. A Managing Director is also responsible for keeping shareholders and board members satisfied. The Managing Director is responsible for Cayuse's overall strategic direction, day-to-day operations, accountability, and outcomes. The Managing Director will be required to understand the broad universe of SLED government contracting and understand how to navigate and excel in working with different levels of government (State, cities, counties, educational agencies, and special districts) to develop business for Cayuse. The Managing Director will play an integral role in Cayuse's overall mission by communicating the unique product or service that Cayuse is providing to the governmental entity, how it separates our company from the competition, and the value the offering brings to the table that is distinguishable from competitors' offerings. The Managing Director will use their strong foundation of specialized skills and knowledge to implement a strategic plan and lead a team to ensure the company meets or exceeds annual goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing company-wide financial forecasts to allow for accurate budgeting
- Liaising with senior management and board members to produce business strategies
- Maintaining healthy and predictable revenue growth by establishing and consistently meeting execution milestones related to the company's financial and operating plans
- Ensuring that short and long-term strategies are implemented effectively across the company
- Taking on full accountability for the success or failure of the company
- Being a high-level point of contact within the company and attending important meetings, events, and conferences
- Sourcing new business or investment opportunities for the company
- Implementing effective communication strategies so that accurate information is being distributed at every level and organizational priorities/expectations are clear
- Reviewing government contracts and other regulatory documents to ensure awareness of, and compliance with, work/service scopes, deliverables, performance requirements, and organizational expectations
- Disseminating contract and regulatory requirements to appropriate departments and stakeholders.
- Establishing and monitoring effective systems of accountability to ensure compliance and organizational standards are met
- Supporting government contract proposal submissions, ensuring the organization's eligibility and providing content and organizational documents as needed
- Collaborating with Finance to support government contract registration and renewals
- Overseeing Quality Assurance, ensuring that key areas of responsibility are met, including that all contracting documents and reporting requirements and deadlines are met and that staff respond to inquiries and corrective actions timely and effectively
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred. Educational background in areas such as public administration, urban planning, and related fields is a plus
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience in governmental contracting
- 5+ years of supervisory experience leading teams and managing managers. Advanced managerial skills expected
- Must have expert data analysis, reporting, interpretation, and presentation skills
- Advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal government regulations, funding, and contracts.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to successfully implement change management strategies. An ability to lead, inspire, motivate, & manage a large and diverse staff
- Sophisticated business acumen
- Highly analytical and strategic problem solver. Ability to use data to forecast performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write policy, and narrative for executive reporting
- Excellent client service and people skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with executive leadership
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple significant priorities, including complex and time-sensitive projects, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with government agencies and other external stakeholders
- Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar software, custom databases, and third-party property management software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree with five or more years of government work experience
Working Conditions:
- 100% remote, work from anywhere.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must maintain a safe, productive, and professional workspace.
- Must be able to work varying work schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.
