POSITION SUMMARY:

The Managing Director of Community Empowerment Services under the direction of the Vice President of Programs is responsible for the overall guidance, oversight, and the daily operations of Community Outreach, Housing Counseling, Family and Health Services, Youth Enrichment, Workforce Development, and Immigration Services. The Managing Director provides coaching and supervision of 65 staff and an operational budget of $5 million.

RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:

Program Quality, Planning, and Evaluation

· Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Programs with integrating three separate units.

· Designs, develops and implements a Mental Health Services program with a concentration on behavioral health.

· Designs, develops and implements standards of operating procedures, intake forms, etc. for all relevant services.

· Develops and executes enrollment plan to ensure all contracted slots are reached.

· Develops meaningful and measurable program plans to identify needs, goals, objectives, and strategies based on direct observations, consultation, and use of multiple data resources.

· Designs, develops and implements an annual self-assessment and community assessment by engaging staff, specialist, families, and community members in examining programs operations and outcomes.

· Works collaboratively with other departments within La Casa to enhance and expand services.

· Works in collaboration with the Director of Communication to develop promotional and social media content.

· Defines, develops, and promotes professional development by using reflective supervision and performance appraisal system to assess staff skills, interests and needs, establishing professional development goals and plan, with on-going monitoring and adjustments as deemed necessary and appropriate.

· Improves efficiency and effectiveness by using appropriate technology to enhance and create systems to share and track in formation related to program

· Enhances and expands services through partnerships by identifying service gaps and developing collaborations efforts with clear and mutually acceptable agreements.

· Ensures staff are knowledgeable of all standard procedures and communication protocols in order to effectively communicate with staff, children, families and the community-at-large.

Fund Development and Advocacy

· Meets, consults, advises, and provides representational functions and fulfills responsibilities to funding sources, federal, state, and local authorities.

· Works in collaboration with the Vice President of Development, by identifying, attracting, obtaining, and sustaining new funding sources.

· Designs and implements fee-based program delivery models

· Establishesandmaintainsexternalprofessionalrelationshipsbyparticipatingasmemberofrelatedcommunity, state, or national professional organizations.

Administration

· Oversees, improves, and sustains high quality comprehensive programs that provide a welcoming, safe, and healthy environment or staff, children, and families.

· Promotes a collaborative, multicultural, and productive working environment by following established protocols, clearly articulating expectations, outcomes, and timelines, and using conflict resolution and negotiation skills when needed.

· Meets federal, state, and local agencies' requirements by maintaining accurate, objective, and complete program records.

· Works in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources to recruit, interview, hire, train, mentor/coach, evaluate, and supervise program staff performance, using observations and other evaluation techniques to assess staff performance with the intent to improve the skill and capacity to support high quality programs.

· Works in collaboration with the Vice President of Finance and Administration in developing and monitoring departmental budgets.

Organizational Responsibilities

· Attends required staff meetings and serves, as appropriate, on staff committees.

· Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

· Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by first day of work.

· Master’s Degree in Social Work. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) preferred.

· Minimum 10 years’ experience working as an administrator in social service programs. Non-profit work experience a plus.

· Demonstrates strong leadership skills in managing and administering programs.

· Excellent verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.

· Ability to initiate, plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control projects independently.

· Required to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities. Ability to organize and prioritize competing priorities.

· Attention to detail and timely follow-up; exceptional planning and experience executing projects.

· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within an organization.

· Innovative, creative thinker and idea generator.

· Impeccable integrity and strong work ethic.

· Strong analytical skills; basic business intuition, and commonsense.

· Will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
