Work Environment:

The position will be based in our corporate headquarters, near Madison, WI, but it will offer a hybrid work arrangement allowing the flexibility to work a few days a week from home.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead/Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Adopt the organization’s values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions, and interpersonal interactions.

  • Lead a team of copywriters and designers to concept seasonal omnichannel campaigns while adhering to the strong visual storytelling of the Duluth brand which consists of:
    • Scheduling brainstorming sessions and check-ins with the team to stay on track with the campaign schedule. Led and communicated tasks to be accomplished at meetings.
    • Brainstorming seasonal omnichannel execution that aligns with marketing and business partner creative briefs.
    • Delegating campaign workload and art direct designers and copywriters on concept ideas.
    • Reviewing work and provide feedback on omnichannel design work.
    • Art directing outside designers and illustrators to sketch up scenarios that were concepted for imagery.
  • Own monthly omnichannel execution from concept to on-time completion that includes the following duties:
    • Merchandising product by spread and paginate catalogs.
    • Executing designs created at concepting with final approved assets from lifestyle photography, illustration or in-studio stylized laydowns.
    • Mentoring and directing the brand’s production design team and freelance designers, as well as managing deadlines.
    • Art directing visually compelling stylized laydowns in studio for seasonal resets.
    • Presenting omnichannel creative work to internal partners.
    • Reviewing and approving layouts and giving feedback.
    • Scheduling and managing freelance designers based on workload.
  • Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
  • Ensure projects are within the approved budgets, meet scheduled completion dates, and adhere to Duluth’s expectations of quality and excellence.
  • Manage freelance budget, scheduling and work assignments.
  • Develop team through regular check-ins, goal review, recognition, and coaching to build bench strength and succession planning.
    • Inspire and manage team, helping them achieve their business and professional goals.
    • Support leadership in helping to build a unified team mindset.
  • Build a collaborative work environment and proactively address team issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or a comparable field of study.
    • Equivalent work experience would be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related environment.
  • Omnichannel design experience with strong social, print and digital art direction background.
  • General knowledge of video production, animation and storyboarding.
  • Prior design and team leadership.
  • Well-established history of working with creative teams, photographers, animators and illustrators.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain high creative standards and workload balance within the budget.
  • Project management/leadership: well-formed skillsets of prioritizing and managing many simultaneous projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the following applications on a Mac platform:
    • InDesign
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Compensation: $73,000+/Year

Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
