Description:

The Scientific Training Manager is a key position within Medical Affairs. The primary responsibility of the position is to serve as a multi-disciplinary expert in solid tumors (pan-tumor) and scientific training resource for Global Medical Affairs, USBU, Clinical Operations, and internal colleagues. Under the direction and in collaboration with the Director of Global Scientific Training, the Scientific Training Manager will be responsible to provide scientific training, develop medical content for training, and develop disease education modules. In addition, this role will provide back up and support to existing Scientific Training team members on key projects and onboarding of new hires, as needed, to maintain efficiency as we grow.


This is a full time, exempt, field-based role reporting to the Associate Director, Global Scientific Training CNS/Pan-tumor. This position requires travel to the Novocure Corporate offices and various trainings both in US and globally (up to 30% of the time).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a Pan-Tumor therapeutic expert
  • Provide or coordinate with internal leadership to provide scientific training for international teams such as Global Medical Affairs, Global MSL teams, Clinical Development, Clinical Research Scientist, Medical Directors, and preclinical teams
  • Provide scientific support and training to USBU
  • Develop training materials, modules, and slide decks (including, if needed, submissions to Scientific Review Committee (SRC)/Promotional Review Committee (PRC) as per Novocure Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop and implement disease education primers in support of Novocure clinical trial program (e.g. lung, pancreas, ovarian, brain and GI)
  • Engage and coordinate with Novocure's scientific teams to support training efforts, strategic plans and launch preparation activities
  • Identify and engage KOLs to support training efforts as needed
  • Conduct on-going field based training
  • Oversee credentialing of medical field teams
  • Maintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise through review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical meetings and self-learning
  • Actively participates in Medical Affairs planning and departmental activities
  • Timely completion of administrative duties associated with role

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Advanced clinical/health/science degree (Masters level/RNP or above or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5 years of oncology experience
  • At least 2 years industry experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a scientific role
  • 1-2 years in experience in Training or Medical Affairs preferred
  • 2+ years field experience preferred (Medical Science Liaison, Thought Leader Liaison, etc.)
  • Previous experience as a trainer preferred
  • Must be competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills
  • Must have excellent verbal skills, strong presentation skills, writing skills
  • Must demonstrate fluency in articulating scientific concepts and data
  • Must have good judgment, ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment
  • A strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative
  • Must work well in large and small teams, ability to work remotely
  • Fluent in English and preferably German, both written and spoken; any further languages are of benefit

OTHER:

  • This position requires travel to the Novocure Corporate offices and various trainings both in US and globally (up to 30% of the time)
