Manager of School Supports, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a variety of presentations, meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of training, conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with current professional program regulationsCoordinate and oversee advisory programming and collection of data

  • Assists in coordinating with community leaders and organizations (businesses, landlords, shelters, law enforcement, social service agencies etc.) for the purpose of building resources and expanding program capabilities to assist families and students
  • Coordinates the process and protocols for school in the following areas (attendance, available programs/services, completing paperwork, Student assistance team) for the purpose of ensuring that an ongoing partnership between the home and school is formed
  • Coordinates program assigned activities and components (eg home visits, parent meetings, community involvement process etc.) for the purpose of gaining information enhancing student achievement and/or discussing needs and problems involving students and their families
  • Prepares a variety of documents, reports and materials (homeless lists, community supports, phone logs, voluntary services, consultants for Social justice projects,etc) for the purpose of communicating information to parents, staff, and students
  • Coordinates referrals for students and their families to outside agencies (state agencies, counselors, programs etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the need of students and families are met
  • Create a welcoming and professional office environment for families, staff and students
  • Provide strategies for developing and strengthening parent and family involvement at the school and district levels.
  • Create district oversight system for advisory program implementation and data collection
  • Travel required between schools in CT and NY


Experience/Training:


  • Specialized assistance and information concerning community agencies and supports
  • Development of materials related to community, family and services for students.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Work confidentially with discretion.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Job related experience


Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred but not necessary

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong connections in the local community
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
