The Procurement Supervisor supports Construction & Field Services operations across The Amherst Group. Primary duties include training the procurement team, meeting with vendors, negotiating pricing, and product feasibility research. Strategic elements of this role include collaborating across departments to optimize operational efficiency, creating analysis to optimize spend & cycle time, and directing the day to day functions of the Procurement team. This role requires an understanding of Construction, procurement & negotiation methodology, and vendor management. This position will report to Vice President, Procurement & Supply Chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Document & streamline processes

High level responsibility (account management & contracts) of key trade categories

Build & maintain effective relationships with our trade partners

Ensure scope of work compliance by vendor base

Play a key role in strategic sourcing initiatives; identifying new sourcing opportunities. Finding new ways to partner with subcontractors and make the overall supply chain more efficient

Ensure audit & contractual compliance for supply chain functions

Actively communicate with leadership regarding updates, projections, and potential issues

Develop and foster a strong working relationship with field personnel, vendors, and consultants.

Provide on demand, real time support to field personnel

Deadline driven mindset and the ability to lead the collective team to defined goals

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Supply Chain, or Construction

Experience in Construction including working understanding of construction drawings and related contract documents

Management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead people & cultivate talent

Advanced proficiency with Excel and a strong technological foundation

Strong analytical skills, the ability to forecast, and understand cost changes and how they impact our business

While the above qualifications are preferred, they are not required. An individual with advanced problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership, and a relentless drive to serve internal & external customers would have a strong foundation in which to become a successful Procurement supervisor
