Job Purpose:

The Maintenance technician is responsible for performing maintenance and other duties that assure the preservation and upkeep of the buildings, fixtures, and resident spaces. The Maintenance technician will support the facilities director in the upkeep of the entire campus.


This is a non-supervisory position; however, you will be responsible for oversight of volunteers and vocational workers. Must be able to train and provide direction to others to help them be successful.

Work schedule: Sunday through Thursday 8a-4:30p and on call every third (3rd) weekend as needed


Essential job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other problems.
  • Complete work orders as assigned including documentation of repair, parts used, and amount of time to complete the repair.
  • Provide emergency services on a rotating basis with other maintenance staff.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and testing of items including but not limited to replacement of air filters, fire extinguishers, and light fixtures.
  • Snow removal and application of ice melt.
  • Communicate effectively with area supervisor daily to ensure all objectives are met and property is up to Company standards.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and appliances, some of which may be located in hard-to-reach or limited access locations.
  • Provide carpentry and drywall repairs including sanding and painting as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of property across campus.
  • Perform landscape maintenance.
  • Use and maintain company provided hand tools, power tools, equipment, heavy machinery, and vehicles in a safe manner as designed and for its intended use and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, and other general repair skills.
  • Ability to efficiently work under time constraints.
  • Small engine repair skills preferred but not required.
  • Possesses good organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Able to work independently and with others.
  • Valid driver’s License.
  • Proven driving record.
  • Personal Car Insurance.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Willing to undergo drug testing and a thorough criminal history and background investigation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum of one year of previous maintenance/grounds experience required.
