The Mobile Medical Unit Driver/Maintenance Tech is responsible for transporting company-owned or leased RV vehicle to all rapid testing sites and/or related medical off-site (other than CRCHC sites) for provision of care. The Mobile Medical Unit Driver/Maintenance Tech will be responsible for ensuring that the RV is cleaned, serviced, and maintenance, as necessary. In addition, serve in the role of set up and break down of all equipment at testing/clinic sites and/or traffic control. He/She will also be a part of the facilities maintenance team under the leadership of the Facility Manager ensuring the overall building maintenance at CRCHC. The Mobile Medical Unit Driver/Maintenance Tech will conduct routine building and grounds with the ability to repair or assemble basic carpentry related matters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years' experience in general building maintenance and/or diversified building and construction trades.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical and structural drawings, schematics and similar documents, and to follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability in carpentry, woodworking, minor plumbing, electrical wiring, painting, plastering, and masonry.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver license with appropriate automobile insurance coverage.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties as specified in the job description.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and successful transportation of patients of all ages as scheduled to satisfy medical appointments.
  • Operate multi-passenger vehicles to transport passengers between destinations in a safe manner consistent with all CRCHC rules and regulations.
  • Generate daily patient transportation schedules and confirm with patient schedulers/practice manager (if when necessary)
  • Before every trip, check the condition of the vehicle's operational and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in safe working condition.
  • Fill out vehicle inspection form daily (submit weekly). Report any van malfunctions or needed repairs to the scheduler.
  • Prepare and submit daily trip log that includes site information, trip purpose, mileage, etc.
  • Submit fuel receipts daily.
  • Be able to read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
  • Be able to utilize route mapping app.
  • Comply with all traffic regulations.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the proper personnel or scheduler.
  • Serve as liaison between passengers and patient appointment schedulers.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for rapid testing and clinic day on the mobile unit.
  • Keep the vehicle(s) clean, inside and outside.
  • Work with vendor to ensure vehicles are deep cleaned twice a week, including provision of necessary PPE to vendor
  • Work with clinical staff to ensure restocking of vehicle, including bringing van over to clinic as necessary
  • Utilize appropriate technique for donning and doffing PPE and appropriate hand washing techniques
  • Maintain knowledge of and follow infection control protocols
  • Dispose of all waste materials (biohazard and regular trash) following mobile clinics
  • Maintain confidentially of sensitive or patient information.
  • Maintain contact with appointment schedulers to confirm any anticipated late arrival times.
  • Complete all job functions in a safe, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Request PTO at least 2 weeks in advance, with the exception of emergency situations.
  • Participate in community outreach events as requested, which may include evenings & weekends.
  • To regularly inspect the grounds and maintain its appearance.
  • To check structured plumbing and wiring for defects and make repairs as needed.
  • Utilize correct and appropriate parts, instructions, materials and tools for repairs.
  • To have a working knowledge of steam boilers, industrial air conditioning techniques, and similar devices.
  • Perform minor plumbing and other related task.
  • To construct and repair counters benches, and wooden structures and furnishings.
  • Paint walls and interior and exterior trim.
  • To replace and repair brick or stone walls, clean and repair damaged concrete.
  • To replace and repair dry-wall interiors.
  • To transport office furniture, office equipment across all CRCHC locations.
  • To clean up and collect hazardous materials.
  • Practice safety precautions related to OSHA regulations.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to the center.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Must pass a drug test prior to employment and be willing to take a random drug test at all times.
  • Be neat and presentable to the public.
  • Have an excellent driving record.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Works in a typical office/clinical environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally outside environment when working the testing site and keeping grounds.

May require potential exposure to at-risk health conditions, blood borne pathogens, chemicals, medications, X-Ray, O2 and other potential health and/or safety hazards typical of a medical environment. Employee is required to be aware of and in compliance with CRCHC, state and federal OSHA regulations as they pertain to these factors, and others typical of a clinical setting.

COMMENTS:

This position is considered medium work with occasional repetitive motion.
