Burke Homes is currently hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our busy construction company! The ideal candidate should be reliable and show great team values, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations. We are looking for someone who wants to learn and grow with our team.

We are looking for qualified Maintenance Technician to cut, fabricate and install wood and other structures according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood and carpentry materials, will work with little supervision, and follow all health and safety standards.

Daily activities will include general upkeep of our complexes and homes including such tasks as plumbing, grounds keeping, carpentry, painting, and janitorial and electrical skills

Responsibilities:

• Pre-walk units prior to resident moving out

• Order needed materials and schedule out vendors

• Turn unit once it is vacant

• Communicate to Portfolio Manager the scope of work and timeline

• Painting

-Work Orders

• Address all work orders within 24 hours

• Troubleshoot issues order parts as needed, or call out a vendor if necessary

• Communicate with tenant and team of the status of the work order and when completed

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of recent and relevant experience in all general apartment maintenance related issues, including apartment punch out work. This position also requires upkeep of the grounds on the property and maintaining the overall appearance of the community. A successful Maintenance Tech will possess superior customer service skills, strong attention to detail and all levels of maintenance skills.

• Plumbing - Sweat/solder pipe, Repair/Replace toilet flush valves, faucets, disposals, and shut-off valves, Snake sinks, tubs, toilets, etc.

• Electrical - Change lights, outlets, fixtures, and ballasts

• HVAC - A/C units and swamp coolers, Boilers - Replace circulating pump, maintain temperature controls and boiler efficiency

• Drywall - Patch, replace, mud, and texture big or small • Can operate power and hand tools (drills, sanders, hammer, etc)

• Can operate basic heavy power tools (table saw, miter saw, drill press, etc)
