Job Description
The maintenance technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the engineering department. Maintain the entire hotel facility: including the physical building structure; all mechanical, electrical, and related equipment in accordance with a planned preventative maintenance program. Ensure all areas are maintained to the high standard expected by our guests.
Objectives
Ensure the establishment is kept up to date with repairs. Prevent deterioration, attend to facilities maintenance need. Under direction of the maintenance manager, perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel. Ensure that all safety systems are operable.
Essential functions of the Maintenance Technician:

Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment/ fixtures found in and around the hotel property.
Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
Respond to guest room calls as required.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and fixtures on hotel property.
Use a variety of hand power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Perform general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited to; carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, etc.
Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established hotel area down times in order to minimize inconveniencing guests. Effectively interact with department managers is required.
Conduct regular walk-abouts, visually assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel; all mechanical, electrical, and any other related equipment.
Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs.
Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
Verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and external areas. Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation works throughout the hotel.
Assist in the training and development, supervision, and disciplining of all talents in the Engineering Department, such as duty engineers, plumber, painter, joiner and apprentice(s).
Adhere to all corporate purchasing policies and controls; all Health & Safety policies; and all other Company policies as required. Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel, contractors and equipment at all times.
Maintain an effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance program, utilizing the Maximo system as required, and conduct special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.
Inform the chief engineer on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems. Access and input information via the computer and generate required reports.
Inspect public areas daily for any issues.
Pool chemical testing.
Providing maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas and administrative offices.
Repairs may include plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door and window repairs
Maintain the Rooms Preventative Maintenance Program and consistently keep updated records on file.
Setting up meeting rooms according to the function sheet.

Preferred Education & Experience
Minimal Formal Education - High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Some college preferred.
Previous Experience in the maintenance field.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Schedule will be based on rotating shifts. Weekends, nights and holidays are likely to be schedule for work. Maintenance technicians must be able to work schedule based on business demands, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, nights and so forth.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length.
Must be able to lift up to 100lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Grooming
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per the specific uniform program.
