We have an immediate need for a Maintenance Assistant at (The Blake at Carnes Crossroads in Summerville, SC.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must have a caring heart and willingness to serve others
• Repairs physical structure and grounds and ensures a safe and secure living environment for residents, visitors, and staff by implementing procedures for preventative maintenance and repairs at direction of the Director of Facilities Maintenance
• Assists with transportation of residents as needed

Education/Experience/ Licensure/Certification

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Ability to perform basic repairs to masonry, buildings' plumbing and electrical systems; basic replacement or repair to hoses, wiring, and belts in machines and equipment such as HVAC system, fountain, irrigation, vacuum and carpet cleaners, lighting systems, exhaust, fire, and security systems
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job. Cleans internal areas of property including, buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waste pick up and removal, and washing windows
• Must be able to paint internal area of building and re-condition resident apartments as needed
• Ability to work weekends and/or as needed to meet the needs of the community
