TCH is currently looking for a Wood Door Machine Operator / General Laborer to join our growing San Antonio branch!

Essential Job Functions

• Pull material for orders
• Install wood/metal light kits and glass into wood slab doors
• Apply plastic laminate to wood door cores
• Operate casing cutting machine and occasionally assemble casing
• Operate wood door machines
• Operate the strike jamb router
• Install wood stop on door frames
• Assemble wood crates for outbound deliveries
• Load pre-hung doors on delivery vehicles
• Pull completed product to ship customer orders or transfer to other TCH locations
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Requirements

• Able to accurately read and interpret a tape measure or ruler and figure fractions
• Basic identification of wood species
• Able to read and interpret machining templates
• Basic understanding of door and frame components
• Safe operation of various shop tools (nail guns, power miter saw, planer sander, etc.)
• Basic understanding of shop orders and sales orders, follow instructions
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and eager to learn new skills
• Able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with all departments
• Cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making and comprehension
• Forklift certification or willingness to be certified
• Favorable results from a pre-employment physical and drug screen

Working Conditions

Manufacturing/warehouse environment with constant exposure to machine noise and wood dust; periodic exposure to wood glue. All day on your feet. Includes; kneeling, push/pull, bending, twisting, squatting. Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis and 100 lbs+, occasionally.
